TBC launches Mischief 1 video API from $0.005 per second
The Biological Computing Co. launched Mischief 1 on fal and OpenRouter on October 30. Developers can turn images into short videos with a starting generation price of half a cent per second.
Spec sheet
- 480p price
- $0.005 per generated second
- 720p price
- $0.01 per generated second
- Clip lengths
- 3 or 5 seconds
- OpenRouter routing
- EU in-region routing unavailable
The model takes a first-frame image and a text prompt. A five-second generation costs $0.025 at 480p or $0.05 at 720p, based on OpenRouter’s listed rates. Resolution therefore doubles the generation bill for the same clip length.
TBC built Mischief 1 on Wan 2.2. The company says measurements of laboratory-grown neurons informed its software optimizations. Those neurons remain in the lab; customer inference runs on standard AI hardware. The release makes that software available through hosted video endpoints.
Claim check
- Confirmed OpenRouter lists the October 30 release and both resolution-specific prices. [2]
- Company claim TBC says Mischief 1 is five times faster than Wan 2.2 while matching its quality. [1]
- Unclear The launch notice supplies no independent benchmark or reproducible method for that speed-and-quality comparison. [1]
